Eid is round the corner and the bubbles of festivity have started to fizz up on what to gift to near and dear ones, what to wear and how best to appear to be part of the celebration to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Eid is perhaps one of those rare annual festivals when you can dare to don the luxe look, aristocratic but not gaudy, sophisticated but not loud is what the advice is for this style story. This episode of the Eid Vogue post is also special because of the fact that I have taken the inspiration to overseas by capturing these photos in lovely Lisbon, the capital city of pretty Portugal. Shot against the dramatic backdrop of the majestic Belem Tower and the 25 de Abril Bridge – these photos below are dedicated to bring to you the fine details of jewellery, accessories and attire to make you look your best during this Eid.
Make sure heads will turn this Eid when they look at you, so lets start with what to wear to ornament your gorgeous locks. I have opted for a ‘Paasa’ – a traditional side head piece which was designed by Raabta by Rahul. Studded with kundan stones and green quartz and pearl drop hanging, set in silver alloy, this Paasa is not too big and not too overpowering and can pass as the glamour glorious over your hairdo.
Lowering the gaze below, I had Amrapali pearl and ‘kundan’ ear-rings to ring-fence the aura of glamour around the face. A short ‘kurti’ with gold appliqué details and a cascading brocade ‘benarasi’ skirt combination blended traditional with the modern adding a fine touch of gloss and gravity. Holding things together in the hand, I could not have thought otherwise without this Ivory Hera Pouch. The delicate pearls hand embroidered bucket bag with pure leather flowers, wristlet and long chain handle is designed by my designer friend Ayushi of LoveToBag. And a strikingly stylish gold palm calf with pearl details from Raabta by Rahul encore une fois confirmed that the style quotient hits the full score this Eid.
Like a fine dessert after a tasty Eid meal, conclude the Eid vogue bonanza at your footsteps with a pair of gold and silver embellished ‘jutti’, the one I am wearing were bought from Janpath in New Delhi, India.
